We cater across the Perth metro area, including the CBD, inner suburbs, Fremantle, Joondalup, and the western suburbs. For weddings and special events, we also travel to the Perth Hills, Swan Valley, Peel Region, and the South West (Margaret River, Dunsborough, Yallingup). Travel fees apply outside the inner metro — please enquire for a quote specific to your location.
For weddings, we recommend booking 6–12 months ahead, as weekend dates fill up quickly — particularly during the spring and autumn seasons in Perth. For corporate events and cocktail parties, we suggest a minimum of 4–6 weeks' notice. For smaller private dinners, two weeks is usually sufficient, though we do occasionally accommodate shorter timeframes depending on availability. Early enquiry is always appreciated.
Absolutely — we take dietary requirements very seriously. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, halal, kosher, and nut-free requirements. All dietary options are clearly labelled at events, and we're experienced at creating menus where guests with different needs all feel equally catered for — not like an afterthought. Please list all dietary requirements when you enquire so we can design the right menu from the start.
Our minimums depend on the event type: working lunches from 10 guests, cocktail events and grazing from 20 guests, seated dinners from 20 guests, and private chef experiences for 6–10 guests. For smaller gatherings, please enquire as we may be able to accommodate you depending on availability and location.
Our quoted per-person prices include menu design, food preparation, all ingredients, crockery, servingware, and basic staffing. Service staff for larger events (such as wedding receptions or gala dinners) are quoted separately based on guest numbers and service style. Setup and bump-out are always included. We'll provide a full itemised quote so you know exactly what's covered.
Yes — menu tastings are included in our Premium wedding package and are available for other events on request (a tasting fee applies, which is credited back upon booking). We want you to feel completely confident in every dish before your guests do.
Yes. We can provide trained service staff for your event, including floor staff, a drinks attendant, and a senior event coordinator. Staffing is quoted separately from the food component and is based on your guest count and service style. For working lunches and smaller drop-off catering, staffing may not be required — we'll advise based on your needs.
We accept bank transfer (EFT) for deposits and final balances. Credit and debit card payments are available via Square payment links. We also accept Bitcoin and Lightning Network payments via our BTCPay Server for clients who prefer that option. A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the balance due 14 days before your event.
We understand that guest numbers can shift as an event approaches. We ask for a confirmed final guest count no later than 7 days before your event. Minor adjustments (within 10%) can usually be accommodated at no additional charge. Significant increases may incur additional costs — we'll always discuss these with you before confirming.
Yes. Blackberry & Thistle Pty Ltd holds public liability insurance and all of our food handling practices comply with the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) Food Safety Standards. All staff hold current food handler certificates.
